About Me

Hello,

I'm David Sepulveda, a licensed marriage and family therapist #110782 dedicated to providing personalized individual and relationship therapy. It's important for me to share that I proudly identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and am passionate about offering specialized support to people facing unique challenges. My work extends beyond my community to include anyone seeking therapy services. I understand the difficulties associated with depression, anxiety, stress, and relationship issues, including nontraditional relationships, and I'm eager to work with you to create a customized treatment plan. My goal during our sessions is to establish a safe and supportive environment. As an integrative therapist, I use techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy and the Gottman approach to help individuals and couples. Let's work together to create a plan that meets your specific needs!

FAQs

How long have you been in the field?

I have been licensed since December 2018, with several years of prior training as an associate and trainee.

What happens if we see each other in person?

I often visit San Francisco and may encounter some of you in the LGBTQ+ community. If you see me, feel free to say hello, but I won't initiate any interaction. I believe in being authentic and supporting the community by attending events and being myself.

What is your fee, and do you take insurance?

I let Ocatve manage fees and copays, and they take insurance. Please go to their website and see if we would be a good match.

What is my typical availability?

I see private patients through Octave and work full-time as a behavioral health manager for a large medical corporation, which limits my availability. I'm usually available on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

Where are you located, and do you see people in person?

I am originally from Southern California and moved to the Bay Area four years ago. I am only licensed in the state of California and can provide telehealth services to anyone within California's service area. I do not offer in-person visits and do not have plans to change this.

Why evidence-based therapy?

As I currently accept insurance for treatment, I adhere to evidence-based practices, which are considered the gold standard of care and are effective for most people. However, if you are seeking exploratory treatment, I may not be the right fit for you, as evidence-based therapy may not be suitable for everyone. Those types of therapy are typically not covered by insurance.
